Its been more than six years since the last time we went horseback riding. That ride was on the sand along the beach in Northern California (Fort Bragg, CA). In Southern California, it is illegal to ride a horse on the beach.
On June 9, 2012, as part of our 21st anniversary festivities, we had a great, reasonably priced ($50/hr per person plus optional gratuity) horseback riding experience with Wagon Wheel Ranch on the hill in Palos Verdes. Yes! No weight limits!
Getting ready to ride...
Stable area was very clean; no worries about
dirty mis-steps.

These horses were immaculately clean - no flies.

Crossing the street (Trail-guide Joy on left; trail guide Lucy leading us and taking the pictures. Fun group!)
Just us and the travel guides (nice small group!)

Overlooking Torrence from top of the hill...
Why does it look like I am riding a pony?
On our way back...

So, if you live in the LA/OC areas and are looking for
something different and exciting to do, call Pat at WWR at (310) 567-3582, and schedule a ride. We are planning on going back very soon and
have already convinced at least one friend to come along.
After your ride, we also recommend that you drive down the hill
to Redondo Beach
and have the Baja Fish tacos while sitting outside at Mickie Finnz.
